Errors

When I turn on Permalinks some pages stop working

The theme uses custom post types, and to ensure proper working and enable functionality most of the pages are coded to be divided into two types of content namely single pages and categories.

The effect of this is that in any permalink that you create WordPress will first look for a category and then for a page in creating the permalink.

The error is usually due to the fact that you are using a permalink structure that is incompatible with the theme structure.

The best permalink to use with this theme is:

/%category%/%postname%/

Call to undefined function cal_days_in_month

To enable the optimal working of the calendar we chose to work with all the functions php have to offer.

One of the functions added in php version 5 is a function that calculates the number of days in a given month, and the function is called cal_days_in_month.

As php evolves your host will upgrade the php versions and that is only part of the solution to getting all the features to work. PHP offers a host of functions and most functions are just too many too allow for optimal working of your website, and for that reason php allows for blocks of functions to be turned off.

when you get the error it just means that part of your dates functions have not been turned on by your host.

To rectify this just ask your host to do the following:

compile php with --enable-calendar

Should your host be unwilling (this should not happen but you never know) I will be able to patch the function for you with an older function, and you are more than welcome to make contact.

On the driving directions i get a Google error

Google recently updated it’s maps API, and a function that needed a developer API previously do not need one anymore thus giving an API error.

Getting the issue fixed is quite easy to do.

First you need to locate the drivedir.php file in the theme folder and round about line 45 – 55 you will find the following line:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&key=ABQIAAAAOZJQqoDBwAknMtPNKR-dvRSi2OoyjRwg8X5jAJmNj4togrBv2xSClpdvpd4FJNt4C5i-i6aTtWzs-g">

Just replace it with the following:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script>

You can just save the file and the error will disappear.
